Description

A section I made by putting together a bunch of old drawings to describe the spaces. By the way, I apologise for spamming you all with these images all in one go over the past couple of days... we have a deadline on Friday and these are all part of that, so I've just been going back over them and giving them a final edit before printing... and since I'm finishing them all kinda at once I'm bulk posting too, so sorry! ^^;

Also I apologise for being slack in replying to messages... but be assured that I will read all your journals etc. once I am on holiday in a couple of weeks :) I hope you're all well! :)

I really like this. It has a feeling of A.M Cassandre but also a feeling of fresh modern design. It actually reminded me of a print from an art textbook I have, so forgive me if I plug the book. You may find it helpful, or just interesting from an art history point of view.

I know you have a lot on your plate, but theres a book you might find interesting. It is a book that changed how I look at art completely. (Well, I was ready to try and improve, but this book was a real starting place for me.)
Its called Basic Design, The dynamics of visual form written by Maurice de Saumarez..If you can get your hands on a copy (check Amazon - first hand its £15 for this slim paperback is quite expensive) you may find it interesting.
It was written in the sixties, but was still very much feeling the influences of the first half of the twentieth century, so many of the designs in it are quite modernist I guess.
But you know how the Bauhaus set up art curriculum's we still follow to this day? This book takes those excercises in design and applies them to drawing and print making.
Its a head bender of a book, and the complete opposite of what my art is about, but its well worth a look.
